  29. with a special session in honor of Niklaus Wirth on his 60th birthday

  36. The conference will provide an international forum for the presentation 
  37. and discussion of recent research in the areas of programming languages 
  38. and system architectures. Authors are invited to submit papers describing 
  39. original research related to these areas. Particularly encouraged are 
  40. contributions discussing their mutual influence. Also, unrefereed 
  41. contributions of 5-20 min. duration, and of a technical and/or personal 
  42. nature are solicited for an afternoon session honoring N. Wirth.

  45. Subjects of special interest include, but are not restricted to:
  46.  
  47. Programming language design and history, Programming environments, 
  48. Programming methods, Operating systems, Compiler construction, 
  49. Innovative system architectures
  50.  
  51.  
  52. Send two copies of technical contributions to the program chair. 
  53. Submissions should not exceed 15 pages and must not have been published 
  54. or submitted for publication elsewhere. Where possible, include the 
  55. e-mail address and fax number of the contact author. Potential contributors 
  56. to the special session in honor of Niklaus Wirth should contact the program 
  57. chair for more information.

  59. Proceedings will be published by Springer Verlag in the Lecture Notes in 
  60. Computer Science series and will be distributed at the conference.
